Fal-Lusan is dying from ecocide; its meadows covered in domesticated grass created by Queganog engineering as a beautiful death-sentence. K-olun and his band of mercenaries join their nation’s war machine as it sails across the Divide in search of a new homeland, hoping for a new life. But life itself is fighting a bigger battle, one that will involve the entire planet. The Banished want their revenge, especially the Fire Starter. They sit between life and death impregnating purple-coloured portals of antimatter into passing souls, eager to steal a reincarnated body and avenge their banishment by destroying existence and its heavenly deities.
But the religions are already at war. The Shadow has infected the Light with his base desires and seedy evilness, turning him bad. The Light needs to bolster his diminishing congregation of worshippers before he disappears without faith. Good is losing its appeal as life struggles for happiness in an evil world, even though reincarnation is real. Who wants to be good these days?
But something has occurred that has the religions worried, all of them, even the Intermediate gods that pander to souls with shallowness and ego.
A child has been born: the Epone.

Conflict increases across the globe in response. The Creator and His family of immortal children watch reality with addiction as the violence intensifies, life becomes an endangered species, while an epoch of natural wonders, including Morning Dawn, Moon and Mother Nature, revolve around the mercenaries as they head for the end of existence; all because an angel’s wish for eternal heaven turned out to be a terminal hell.
